About

What GlobeWebcams is, what it does, and how it relates to the original webcam providers.

A discovery map, not a camera operator

GlobeWebcams organizes public or authorized webcam locations on a worldwide map so people can discover current views by place, country, category and source. The cameras and their underlying services are operated by their original providers, not by GlobeWebcams.

Original sources stay visible

Camera pages preserve provider attribution and links to the original source or provider terms where available. Current imagery is referenced from the authorized provider when the applicable source rules allow it; GlobeWebcams does not treat a publicly reachable image as permission to reuse it.

Conservative publication

Finding a camera is only the first step. Source rights, current availability and page quality are evaluated separately before a camera can become indexable. A camera may remain absent from search-engine sitemaps even while its metadata is being evaluated.

National Park Service data

GlobeWebcams uses selected data and current webcam frames made available by the U.S. National Park Service and other U.S. federal sources where their reuse terms permit it. GlobeWebcams is an independent third-party service and is not endorsed, certified, sponsored, or operated by the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of the Interior, or the U.S. Government. The NPS name is used only to identify the source. GlobeWebcams does not use the protected NPS arrowhead insignia.
